The Bay Area has seen it all these last two months, weather-wise: everything from warm Winter sunshine, to dumping rain with crazy windstorms, to… hail? It’s been an unpredictable season, and it’s definitely been difficult to dress for the occasion — especially when the weather changes multiple times throughout the day! Read more to find out what to wear when it’s raining, and how you can be prepared to take on Mother Nature’s indecisiveness in style.
Bright monochromatic set + neutral, water-repellent coat
Or try this vice versa, by wearing a neutral or black monochromatic set with a fun water-repellent coat that you can take off when indoors. I promise that when it’s gray outside, everyone you come across could use a pop of color in their lives. Bring the sunshine when it’s hidden by the clouds!
Vinyl
Being that it’s a plastic product, vinyl is inherently water-resistant, making it a great choice for statement raincoats or bucket hats. Bring back the 60’s Space Age vibes with this cool, shiny material in your accessories!
Waterproof shoes
These days it’s an easy bet that if it’s not currently raining, then it will be soon — and in the meantime, the deep puddles and muddy patches have lingered in the spirit of rainstorms’ past. This season, avoid having water-logged socks or getting muddy tracks on your nice shoes by opting for a pair of waterproof ones — and this doesn’t have to mean rain boots! There are plenty of options these days for you to stay comfortable and protected from the rain without sacrificing a solid outfit for a pair of clunky boots.
