True Story.
Fashion had always been there. Walking between rows of desks, my students would often say, “Ms. Young, it looks like you’re walking down the runway.” At the time, I didn’t yet realize how deeply instinctive my relationship with clothing was or how much it would shape what came next.
ONCE UPON A TIME...
After teaching, I began my career with Urban Outfitter’s fashion merchandising team. While I valued the customer service side of retail, it quickly became clear that my interest wasn’t in selling clothes, it was understanding people.
I was drawn to how style could support confidence, communicate intention, and evolve throughout major life changes. What mattered most to me was creating long-term relationships with clients while helping them clarify who they are, how they want to be seen and how their image can support where they’re headed next.
With the support of my friends, family and students, I moved to the Bay Area to launch my own styling business. Today, Abby Young Styling is a team based in Los Angeles and the Bay Area that works with executives, founders and public-facing professionals, helping them use personal style as a strategic tool that supports credibility, clarity and confidence as their roles and visibility grow.
We’ve worked with over 250+ clients including: Presidents, C-Suite Executives, VPs, Senior Partners, Executives, and Founders, Directors and leaders at Apple, Google, Meta, Toyota, Porsche, Audi, Cisco, Intero Real Estate Berkshire Hathaway, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, CBS, and more. I hold a Fashion Styling certificate from the Fashion Stylist Institute and Condé Nast College as well as a Master’s Degree.
more than just a hobby.
I manage all areas of marketing for AYS, from brand messaging and digital strategy to website development, blogs, and our monthly magazine, Young, Edited. My role is to help bring the AYS vision to life in a way that feels cohesive, thoughtful, and true to the brand.
Outside of work, I am a mother to two beautiful toddlers and I love spending time with my family. My personal style is a mix of clean classic pieces and comfort as I am typically on-the-go. Working for AYS, I love seeing Abby help people like me, transform their wardrobes after they’ve experienced a major life change such as becoming a mother. The transformations are life changing.
Hi! I work behind the scenes at Abby Young Styling, supporting client communications and styling logistics to help ensure every order and experience feels seamless from start to finish.
In my free time, I’m usually outdoors, traveling or finding inspiration in accessories people wear along the way. When it comes to personal style, I’m especially fond of skirts - a timeless staple that’s been making a statement for generations and can transition a look from daytime to evening seamlessly.
When I’m not working with clients to help them feel aligned in their wardrobe, you can find me shopping (no surprise there), experimenting with gluten-free baking recipes, adventuring with my dogs Luna & Diesel, or working out.
I’m drawn to modern elevated streetwear such as mixing denim with statement heels or a structured blazer layered over casual basics to instantly elevate my look. I often pull inspiration from global runway shows such as New York or Milan Fashion Week, pulling a mix of masculine and feminine pieces together to create a stylish look.
