Summer is just around the corner, and it’s definitely warming up in the Bay Area! Whether you’re planning on visiting a local beach, going abroad, or taking the kids to an amusement park, you’ll want to pack with the heat in mind. Read more to learn about the hottest styles this Summer, and how you can style the best cooling fabrics.
1. Wide-leg linen pants
Being a natural fiber, linen is a great choice for a light, breathable fabric. Pack a pair of light, neutral-colored wide-leg linen trousers to pair with a bright top for a casual summer-y look. Check out these Linen Way-High® Drape Pants from Everlane, or any similar pair.
2. Silk blouses
Avoid having synthetic materials stick to your skin by opting for a silk blouse instead. Silk is cool to the touch, and it’ll keep you comfortable all day long. Amour Vert’s Renata Washable Silk Blouse is a favorite of mine and my clients’!
3. Knit dresses
Maybe it’s because it’s coquette-girl Summer, or maybe it’s because crochet never really went out of style — but either way, you can expect to see plenty of knit dresses this summer. Dresses like Reformation’s Nolan Open Knit Sweater Dress can be easily repurposed as a swimsuit cover up too!
4. Mesh shoes
Perfect for those warm summer nights, mesh slingback heels or ballet flats are the trendiest (and most breathable!) shoes this season. Check out these strappy square-toe heels from Piferi!
5. Statement slides
Slides are another style that’s here to stay — but since we’ve parted ways with post-COVID minimal athleisure fashion, slides have been experiencing a style renaissance along with other accessories. These Espadrille Slides by Valentino Garavani weave a few trends into one beautiful, easy-to-wear shoe.
6. Wide-brim woven sun hats
The wider the better baby, and the more shade you’ll have for yourself! The one I’m wearing (more like hiding beneath) in the picture below is the Solange Visor from Cult Gaia.
